Purpose of role

This role is in charge of:

- analyzing process / equipment performance and evaluating unit efficiencies to identify potential cost reduction and reliability improvement 
- conducting Front End Engineering Design pertaining to existing process/equipment modifications, or involving the installation of new processes/equipment to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency within company vision, mission and comply to government regulations.

This role reports directly to the Technical Superintendent.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job

a.    Safety and EHS Management
Participating in risk assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, pre start-up safety review and safety/relief valve revalidation activity.
Reviewing operating envelopes (NOL, SOL and SDL) and preparing and or reviewing MoC with the documentation.
Support or lead incident investigation to find out causes, develop recommendation to avoid reoccurrences and monitor the action plan.

b.    Optimize Existing Facilities 
Analyse equipment/unit operation performance to identify areas of potential cost reduction, efficiency, yield and safety improvement.

c.    Plant Improvement and Project
Conduct Front End Engineering Design pertaining to existing process/equipment modifications or involving the installation of new processes/equipment to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency, support project execution in process engineering scope, commissioning, and post project evaluation in order to increase capacity and production efficiency, cost reduction and EHS compliance or improvement.

d.    Plant troubleshooting
Partners with all plant, particularly Plant Operations, EHS and other department personnel, in providing technical assistance to effectively and efficiently solving problems.

e.    Reporting
Summarize and report of process engineering matter or activities within an equipment, a system, or/and a process unit to meet company business targets.

f.    Quality
Monitor and improve product and process quality to reduce off specs and re-process cost

Required Profile

•    Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
•    Having up to five years’ experience in process engineering or production
•    Preferred to have at least 1 year experience in PTA manufacturing
•    Having experience in joining or facilitating HAZOP
•    Familiar with national & international engineering code & standards
•    Familiar with engineering drawings such as P&ID, PFD and isometric drawing
•    Preferred to have experience in Continuous improvement activity such as CI program / Six Sigma / Lean project
•    Familiar with process engineering and design software or calculation
•    Good communication in English and Bahasa
•    Collaborate with global and regional team effectively
