Role and purpose:
• Lead, manage, develop and motivate Japan sales team
• Manage, collaborate and support sales growth of Japanese transplant countries
• Develop, maintain and grow customer relationships, identify and build relationships with key decision makers of customers (CEO, COO, director level).
• Manage global/regional key accounts in alignment with other countries.
• Implement/execute the strategy through sales development applying industry and application focus
• Implement pricing strategy within guidance set by business management team and maximize value through sales excellence
• Segment customer portfolio appropriately to define right price- as well as service levels
• Derive relevant segment trends and needs as key input for strategy
• Expand industry knowledge for key industries (e.g. automotive, household, healthcare) and identify future industry trends
• Select right customers and establish partnerships with customers for effective implementation of innovation objectives
• Identify new business opportunities and translate this into innovation requirements for business management teams
• Develop and maintain a strong distribution partner network in Japan
• Develop and retain talent within the organisation using multiple tools including coaching and mentoring
What do you need to succeed:
Level of education & Experience in general:
• University degree in polymer or chemical background
• 10+ years of sales and marketing experience, preferrable in the Chemical Industry
• In-depth knowledge of global polymers / styrenics industry, with specific insights in targeted focus industries, value chain and key customer trends, competitor landscape
• Experienced in sales or business within a matrix organisation, with several interdependencies between businesses and regions
• Managerial experience
• Business awareness and commercial performance skills
• Ability to deal with multicultural environment.
Technical skills:
• Functional expertise with focus in Sales management, new business development, sales concepts, innovation management, key account management
• Competence to understand constantly changing complex market environments
• Derive objective oriented conclusions
• Understand cross-functional / cross-regional framework within Styrolution to derive target optimal conclusions and recommendations
• Contracting strategy and negotiation
