The Position:
This position will play a key role in maximizing the financial and operational performance of the PX/PTA business by aligning business strategy with cross-functional tactical execution. You will be responsible for delivering rigorous commercial analyses, customer and market insights to drive decision making, and for strengthening customer supply relationships which lead to growth. Success in this role comes from collaborative partnership and respectful leadership with direct reports and to individuals on other teams who are critical to the success of the business
What you will do:
INEOS Aromatics operates plants which produce paraxylene (PX) feedstock, metaxylene (mX) and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in the US, Europe and Asia. PTA is a key feedstock used to produce PET bottle resin, polyester fibers, films, and coatings. In the US the Texas City, TX plant produces PX (395 kTA) and metaxylene (109 kTA), and the Cooper River plant near Charleston, SC produces PTA (1300 kTA).
Lead Supply & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Logistics
- Own the demand planning process and translate forecasts into optimized production plans for PX, mX, and PTA assets.
- Monitor plant capacity, operational constraints, and inventory targets while balancing working capital requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance to ensure alignment on plans and priorities.
- Identify feedstock purchasing requirements and collaborate with commercial and regional teams to optimize domestic and import PX sourcing strategies.
Deliver Market, Commercial, and Financial Insights
- Gather and analyze global and regional market intelligence to track key PX/PTA industry trends and dynamics.
- Develop and maintain commercial and economic models including supply/demand balances, asset economics, import parity pricing, trade flows, and competitor analysis.
- Perform commercial and financial analysis such as cost-to-serve, make-versus-buy scenarios, and margin modeling.
- Support contract evaluations and negotiations with data-driven insights and market context.
- Support monthly and annual financial planning by maintaining commercial forecast data, including sales volumes, market pricing, and S&OP plans.
Manage Key Customer Accounts
- Maximize the commercial value of a portfolio of specialty PTA and co-product customers.
- Manage end-to-end customer relationships and collaborate with Customer Service, Logistics, Credit, Manufacturing, and Legal to ensure effective account support.
- Develop proposals, align internally on pricing and commercial terms, and negotiate within approved parameters.
Leadership
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of Account and Logistics Coordinators.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and problem-solving to improve the order-to-cash process and overall business performance.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders and align priorities in a complex and fast-changing business environment.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field required
- MBA preferred, but not required
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, technical, commercial, or related roles
- Background in engineering or chemistry, with understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, is highly desirable
- Experience in sales, market analysis, or supply chain is preferred
Technical Skills:
- Expert analytical skills with strong knowledge of excel. Able to draw insights from market & pricing data
- Presentation skills
- Sound commercial acumen
- Negotiation skills
- Some knowledge of the polyester value chain
- Previous team-leader experience is desirable

- The annual base salary for this position typically ranges between $151,634 and $189,543
- Additionally, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus as part of their total compensation package.
- The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
